Power Steering & Transmission Fluid for 93 Geo Tracker

O'Reily's is telling me I can use either transmission fluid or power steering
fluid interchangeably. Where is the container for the Transmission Fluid and
where is the container for the Power Steering Fluid? I have a leak in the
container that is immediately accessible from the top. One person tells me
this is the transmission. One person tells me this is the power steering. It's a
93 Geo Tracker, manual 5-speed, 4 cylinder - not a 4 WD. Purchased 2nd
(3rd or 4th hand), didn't come with car manual. Can't locate diagram online.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

If it has to be checked by removing a cap that is the power steering fluid and if it has a leak add some Lucas Power Steering Steering Stop Leak that should stop that leak not %100 that it will stop it but I give it a 9 out 10 chance of working and it is worth a try.

any manual transmission does not have a fluid reservoir, it is internal to the transmission itself. As for the power steering fluid, yes you can use either power steering fluid or transmission fluid (use fluid made for GM cars) and you will find that transmission fluid is by far cheaper per ounce then power steering fluid. The power steering container is just to the left of the radiator, usually a round top and is just next to the overflow container for the radiator.
