What happened? the vacuum source fell off? sucker tool revealed a leaker? These may be integral, that's why it won't pry, but the guts of it can be serviced. Think there's a diaprhagm and a plunger...that's about it.
usually, there is a hinge with a bolt attached to it.. vaccuum modulator right??

you know jason, haven't had experience with them, just read today what they are and how they affect your automatic transmission...the vacuum builds up, till the vacuum modulator changes gears...that's about the jist of it. no modulator=no switchin' gears.

could be a hinge action, thought it was just a plunger, but all cars seem the same but different somehow....still can't figure on so many different steering wheels that do exactly the same thing...
yup.. i used to change the modulator every 40k miles to improve my shifts.
Thanks guys, There was a small hidden bracket attached to a bolt(thanks Jason) I took it off and it popped right out.
