2005 gmc envoy, no power at all
Asked by Thomason5 Nov 09, 2019 at 02:48 PM about the 2005 GMC Envoy
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
There us no power what so ever to the vehicle. We
drove it, park it and went out the next morning and
nothing at all. We have changed the BCM, negative
cable, neutral safety switch, ignition module,
starter, and the starter sylonoid fuse. The batter
and alternator are good. There is no security
system for this vehicle. Still nothing, any ideas

A catastrophic failure like this is going to be battery related. I'm assuming you have no lights, wipers, horn, nothing, correct? Check the battery cable connections at both ends. Make sure everything is clean and tight. Check the fuseable links down by the starter. Look in the underhood fuse box for a main fuse. It will be a large MAXI style fuse with the number 100 on it. It may be blown or have a bad connection because of corrosion in the fuse box. Hope that helps! Jim
2 things to check. Check the mega fuse in front, right in front of the battery. It's a 125A fuse that is held down by 2 nuts, roughly 3" long. Also, check the ground on the transmission hump on passenger side. 1 bolt, pull carpet back, that ground handles a lot on this platform.
Right in front of fuse block, not battery.
It won't start everything will come on but it won't say nothing when I turn the key
I got a 2005 GMC Dilaudid XL invoice everything will come on when I switch the key but it won't say nothing I'll turn over
Hi Johnny, this thread is 4 years old. Start a new thread so everyone can see your question. In the meantime, what you're describing sounds like a bad starter or neutral safety switch. Try hitting the starter a few times with a hammer. If it starts, then you know the starter is bad. If not, try moving the gear shift lever through all the settings (P, R, N.....) a few times quickly. Also try starting it in neutral. If this gets you started, the neutral safety switch is bad. Hope that helps and remember to start that new thread! Jim
