What is the max tow rating on the 2005 Sierra Z71 and how could I beef up the suspention to improve towing and payload?

max towing is 10500lbs with the proper stuff. Yes and no (could I beef up the suspention to improve towing and payload?) dont forget your brakes/axle/steering/cooling/tranny. for the best answer, I would recommend going to a trailer/hitch shop and talk to them, they will look over your truck and let you know what your limits are now and what you can do to increase it.

what size engine and what gear ratio do you have? This is what will answer your question. I have a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 4 Dr SLE 4WD Extended Cab SB with a 5.3 liter with a 3.73 rear and the max towing rating is 7900 pounds. I also added a set of rear helper air springs for better leveling and better control while towing my 7000# camper
