why is my transmission saying hot when i get half way up a steep hill

just had rebuilt tranny put in 2 days ago. Shifts fine for the most part but when I give it gas to start the climp, rmps go up and only can do about 30-40 mph. its a 2005 gmc serria 4x4, 5.3 motor, please email me at arn96450@alumni.bloomu.edu or call me at 570-394-7325 and leave a voicemail and I will call back. no service where I work. any help will be appreciated. thanks in advance

Check the transmission fluid level. When putting in the trany and filling it, the motor needed to run, and you be shifting threw the gears to circulate the oil. If you did not do this, then the fluid level will be low.

Check the trany lines to make sure they are not kinked running to the oil cooler.
