1999 ford expedition is stuck in 4x4

Sounds like the actuator on the transfer case is stuck,or bad dash switch,you can try resetting the ECM by removing the positive cable for a few minutes may reset it,but before you remove cable,make sure to remove you key from ignition,then remove the cable,

All so make sure it is switched into 2 wheel drive.

We replace the xfer motor like tennissoes suggest at the dealer due to not being used frequently enough more than you would think.

Not that I would have the dealer do it, It's that common a problem is all.
