Question type: Maintenance & Repair

New owner . Cleaned van yesterday, with cloth and
bucket no hose. Van  started as usual. 2 hours
later. Start error. Key turns all positions. All
dashlight, lights accessories etc working. Visual
check of fuses. Ok.  Charged 25 mins off another
vehicle. Jump start. Still start error. Have tried all
tricks on all forums with key fob sequence, battery
disconnect.etc. no access to volt meter. 100km
from dealer or mechanic. Any suggestions to
override or repair to get running to get to dealer
with star diagnostics?? Thanks in advance

I recently had a similar thing happen to me in which the the battery had to be replaced in order to get the starter to actually engage the solenoid. I had charged the battery externally and did have the same problem. Once cleaning the terminals as well as the battery it started up. I hope this may help if it doesn't email ZIMALETA HOW TO SHOW SPRINTER HELP who is on YOUTUBE. He does email you back or at least he did me. He probably knows the answer to your question.
