Battery drain from 2018 Mercedes Sprinter in Holiday Rambler RV

Asked by Ross Jul 12, 2019 at 10:34 AM about the 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 144 V6 High Roof Passenger Van

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My engine battery drains to being unable to start in less than 2 days. My dealer
is telling me this occurs in an Mercedes Sprinters and that I need to disconnect
the battery with the disconnect next to the gas pedal whenever I turn off the
vehicle for longer than a day. Is what they are telling me correct?

Disconnect the battery longer than one day...that's baloney...Find another dealer. It's an RV, you should have a battery isolator, if it's working correctly this should not happen.

Nope Marky Mark you are incorrect. The sprinter does not have battery isolation. It does however have a disconnect located by the gas peddle. The dealership is correct; this is a common problem on the Sprinter, mine is a 2019. As a matter of fact, this is a common issue on ALL Mercedes Benz vehicles. Your best option is to install a battery tender and set it for AGM type battery. Note: you dont have to buy the $300.00 Mercedes brand, your just paying for the name.
