heater is not working.

heater was disconnected because it was always on and blowing hot all the
time. A friend disconnected it and said he would fix it for the winter. He moved I
have NO idea what he did. HELP !!!PLEASE

I don't know what he did. Check the heater hoses to see if he looped them together under the hood.
More that likely, your friend rerouted your heater hoses and took the heater out of the coolant flow. As FOR suggested, open your hood and look for the heater box along the firewall. There should be TWO hoses - one going into the heater box and one coming out. The one going in comes from you radiator and the one coming out goes to your engine. What you will probably see is one hose that goes from the radiator to the engine. Replace this with the two hoses just described.

All I have to do is figure out what hose goes where and how to do it. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
It really doesn't matter which is which but it is usually top to in (from radiator) and bottom to out (block). Do when engine is old and try to loose as little coolant as you can. That will limit how much you will need to add back to the reservoir. Do the process one hose at a time.
