After putting on now solenoid, my car almost caught on fire.headlights turned on with no key in ignition,loud pop followed by smoke near altinator,does this mean I blew up alt.how do I fix?

Sounds like you put wires in the wrong place. most of them go to one side and one of them goes to the starter. There is a fuseable link in the harness to the alternator that probably got cooked.
