how much would it cost for a starter?

Hi Jackie! From what I am seeing on the web, dependent on your engine, you are probably looking at $100 - $150, but perhaps as much as 250. Here's a link to one source for you you to get started (no pun intended). Good luck! http://mad-parts.com/browse1.htm

Why,Jackie,Have you even thought of trying to call a auto parts store.Depends on if you want a 1 year,2 year or a life time starter?Sounds like you have a 305 or a 350 engine.Same starters.GM is a GM.Cheapest is around $89 with exchange for a 1 year starter.Remember all GM starters must be sheamed.Thats the one fault from GM.GM never redesigned the small block engine is rquired a sheam.May as well replace the battery while your doing it.
