I am have a problem very much like the rest of you 1993 GMC truck owners I was wondering if anyone has changed the crankshaft position sensor

Asked by GuruBNJST Jan 07, 2019 at 05:17 PM about the 1993 GMC Sierra 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck had a little miss I figured it needed a plug change or other minor
servicing , then we went out of town with it and had to keep one foot on the gas
and one on the brake to get her home at which time it died and now will not
start , it turns over but wont fire , I was wondering if anyone has changed the
crankshaft position sensor and found that this was the problem.

Thanks Michael I was about to change the position sensor when a fellow car guy said it was the sensor that controls the temp. for starting . he said it was stuck in -40 mode so we went to Napa and bought the part for 40.00 and it fired right up , and has been running better than it has for a long time , it was getting a little cranky starting some times I just thought the injectors were in need of cleaning or changing but it had nothing to do with them .Thanks for your input Happy Trucking
