2004 Honda Pilot won't start unless yellow check engine light on

Asked by flyingmoosegal Feb 16, 2019 at 10:29 AM about the 2004 Honda Pilot

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a new battery, starter and alternator, but sometimes (especially in
warmer weather?) the car will not start.  No noise, nothing.  If I unlock the
position of the steering wheel and push it up and down until the yellow start
engine light comes on, it will then start.  Sometimes just cuts off when
driving, and have to go through same scenario.  I believe it is an electrical
problem maybe in the steering column?  Any suggestions?

I am taking the car to an auto electric place this week and will definitely ask about the ignition switch also. Thanks so much!
