2009 Chevy Malibu.

My girlfriends 2009 Chevy Malibu has been
running fine. I started it this morning just fine
to warm it up and when she got in it put it in
reverse service se light came on the car shut
off and all the lights started flickering and
flashing. It will not start. Turn the key and it
makes a constant clicking noise and all the
lights flicker and flash.

alternator may have died and the battery is drained , get the batt charged then you can start it and see if the alt. is OK with a multi tester .If you're going to do your own repairs there's a few tools you will need . In older cars the batt. light would come on when the alt. quit on you . Now I guess people are too stupid for even an idiot light .
