It may be the battery in the fob is weak. Do you have a second one and does it do the same thing? You may have to reproram the fob to the car again. Mine I have to be inside and push the lock and unlock key down for 15 seconds to mate the key to the car. Try that and if it doesn't work, take it to a Chevy dealer and ask them to try to reset the key. New fobs are expensive, and if you do buy one, make sure it works before paying for it. My true value store sells key fobs that are guaranteed to work for a heck of a lot less that the dealership.

The gadget that has the little buttons that lock or unlock your car remotely and may have an alarm button or other features on it is a "fob". you set off the alarm using the key? open the door, go inside the car and put the key in the ignition and turn it on. turn off the key and remove it and put the alarm button to turn off the alarm. The alarm should turn off, and the car start.
