what does the car say it requires? whatever it says, use it. and the lower octane fuel you use with proper combustion still happening the more power you output. higher octane DOES NOT give you more hp. thats 100% wrong.

Sometimes higher octane does provide more power. A car like Maxima is designed to use premium fuel. This is why the user manual specifies premium fuel. The knock sensor informs the on-board computer if the engine starts to knock due to the use of lower grade fuel and then the computer changes the spark plug and valve timing to prevent knocking. But these changes reduce the engine power. This drop in power is the hidden cost of using cheaper gas. Other cars are designed to use cheaper gas and do not benefit at all if you use premium gas. If such a car starts to knock is has to be taken to a shop anyway because premium gas would just tend to hide some potentially serious problems

what i was saying is if proper combustion is with 91 octane fuel then using anything over 91 octane fuel will NOT give more power. it will actually give less. if proper combustion takes place with 87 octane then using premium will NOT give more power either. its a common myth. now if nissan recommends using premium then premium is what full proper combustion happens at and what peak power comes from.
