Trunk doesn't open with key fob or interior button

Check and see if your back seat will let down so that you will have access to the trunk. If your backseat does back down to where you have access to the trunk then there may be a trunk release button that you can pull once you let the back seat down so that you can open the trunk other than that there may be a blown fuse that causes the inside trunk but not to work
have been going thru back seat to release. Am 77 yrs. old not easy. checked fuses but did not see one labels trunk.
I called a friend who is service technician at the local Nissan dealer, he told me to check the glove box, upper left side, you should see a switch that when turn to the off position blocks the trunk lid from being open even with the smart key. See if your car have one of those, maybe it was turned off inadvertently.
Same problem with 2015 Mustang convertible. Back seat does not go down. Hidden release key slot doesnt work either

How do I get my trunk opened without a key?
Thanks Jorge.... The switch was in off pisi+ion. Saved nearly $200 the shop was trying to charge for diagnosis and labor
Same problem here, but the switch inside the glove box in on a on position and still don’t work!!!
I have a 2009 nissan maxima and the battery died and now the remote nor the key wont open the door. What can i do?
Thanks Jorge that also happened to my car and my glove switch was off!!
Yes some how my switch in the glove box got turned off just turned it on and it worked
I tried the glove switch...It's on...The door opens with the interior hatch ,but it does not respond at all to the keyfob....If the battery was low on the keyfob, wouldn't the car indicate that? and wouldn't other things not work, like the doors?
So I realized mine only won’t open when in my garage or the parking garage at work. If my turn my headlights to the off position the fob and manual release will then work. Don’t ask me why. Some weirdness with the ambient light sensor.
Hey everyone, New to this forum but I had the exact same issue with my 2010 Maxima and I have completed the repair and have had no further issues with the trunk button or the fob trunk release button so with my car trunk I found that opening and closing the trunk lights would flicker and then go out. Obviously meaning there was something causing on the motion of the open/close so I began to shake the wires from the latch to the deck lid hinge where they first made my license plate lights flicker(noting it as first) continued to trace the wires into the trunk and ti the plug that connects the wires coming from the front of the vehicle to the trunk(no flickering). I unplugged the the plug lead to trunk actuator, then remembering exactly where I noted the flicker on the wire and cut into the rubber stripping to expose the wires. Upon opening I found that the black wire was completely severed and the orange, blue, purple wires were also exposed and definitely was the cause of the break in power to the trunk (photos attached) . After carefully looking at the wires I found that there was a factory zip tie that was pulling and pinching the wires finally cutting through and all around causing the the short I proceeded to remove the zip tie and trash it so as to give the wires a little more freedom to move with the deck lid opening and close in I spliceD and re- attached the wires ran the wires back to the connector tested and heard the sound of a freshly opened trunk. Sealed all the weatherstripping up (electrical tape)and I put all the interior covers back on and havent has an issue sense. I don’t if this helps anyone but it definitely worked me so maybe it could save someone from taking it to a dealer and paying thousands of dollar. Anyways good luck hope it works for you.
Thank you Greg, Just opened up the location in your photo and sure enough 5 of the 6 wires were broken. Now soldered and wrapped up all is working fine including the trunk light which wasn't. That should have been a indication enough that it was not the actuator but the wiring. Thanks for pointing out the weak spot!
I have the same problem! Will check on that.
Greg is the man!! I have a 2013 Nissan Maxima and my trunk, rear break spoiler light, and my trunk light were all not working for WAY too long. Found three broken wires where Greg told me to look and connected them back up and there we go! Saved me hours of work and SEVERAL hundred dollars. Thanks so much man!!
2018 Altima. I thought if laying down rear seats too. The latches are in the trunk.
Jorge Thank you so much!!! My trunk was not open for weeks, until I read this about the glove switch was off. In my case my wife discovered the switch a while ago and she asked what it was I told he I did not know, I think we touch it and we were disapointed that nothing happened!! hahah the trunk!!! than you!
