d14z2 tuning, turbo, v-tec

Question type: Car Customization
Hi, I've got a 99 civic with d14z2 (90HP) under the hood. What would you suggest to speed it up a bit?
Heard some rumors that it's possible to get a v-tec to that engine, is that true? What would I need to get if it's possible?
I'm also thinking about putting the turbo kit. Any ideas what would be best?
Is it recommended to get the full exhaust package at the same time?
How will petrol hunger look like after that kind of tweeks?
Don't want to spend a fortune on it, but don't mind paying for something that makes a real difference to the power I have now.
Will appreciate an advice.
Cheers

get a gsr motor and you will surely feel the difference and then work on the head put a couple of type r parts and even a turbo...and you will be moving and of course tune your car if your putting turbo on it
I don't want to change the engine, want to tune a bit what I have. Relize it's not gonna be a rocket, but why not make it a bit quicker? v-tec in that engine would suit me for a while

thenget bolt on like an aftermarket intake and exhaust... makes your engine breath bette and put out a little more torque...are there still lightwieght flywheels in aftermarket shops? try to get one...
OK first of all its more work "to put vtec in it" then to swap it out for something better. for you to get vtec in it motor that would involve drilling holes in the block you currently have to make plenums for oil to go though to actuate your vtec solenoid a d16z6 head or d16y8 head and a d16z6 head gasket new ecu run another wire for your vtec solenoid and since your presumably going from obd0 to obd1 or obd2 you will also have to run new lines for different things like possibly o2 sensors and other sensors that are required to run the head of your choice. baisically big waste of time and you will find that in the long run it is probably the biggest waste of time, sorry
wait nm you wont have to run new lines for sensors yours is obd2 i do believe
