Can I change wheel studs to thicker ones

I got new rims. They are the right bolt
pattern but my studs are thinner then the car
the rims came off. Am I alright to use the
thinner ones and if not am I able to change
my studs to thicker ones.

Nope. You need the correct wheels. It is possible you have the incorrect lug nuts for the wheels you have. Check with the wheel manufacturer.
