Ford edge Heating issue

My ford edge 2009 SEL model heats in traffic or slow driving but not frequently.
What i found the issue might be cooling fan turns off after sometime and turns
on in the interval of 15 to 20 minutes.
what might be the issue?

On my 2013 Ford Edge Sport it was my coolant fans that was causing the intermittent heat while the truck was idle in traffic or slow driving.
