Sounds like the alternator is not charging.
Also one of the ground wires it connected to the inside under the hood and the wires r just wrapped around it
Bad battery connections may be the problem.
My 96 3.8(Mustang) Has The Same Issue It Will Turn Over (Slow) But Fire Up With A Jump Shut It Off It Will Start Right Up Leave It An Hour Or So Same Problem Turns Over But No Go

I agree with Regerts if cables have the factory terminal ends on them remove and put the terminal ends on cables that are screwed onto cable then connected to battery and if you already have those type of terminal ends remove cable from terminal end and clean and also remove from battery and clean.
