Find a good mechanic in your area and you should be fine. Have them check it out first. Don't take it to the dealer and make sure that they have replaced the recalled seat belts on that car.

97K is NOT high miles, service history is a big+, and yes things that break and/or maintenance wont be cheap, but that the price of driving a BMW

if you value your money at all, do not buy it! or if you do, do not drive it. it will make a wonderful lawn ornament though.

well, if you wish to boost the economy, specifically auto repair, tow truck service, etc. then do buy it. Your mechanic will love you. Try a lexus or toyota, spend 90 per cent less on repairs and maintenance, and the Japanese car will last 3 times as long, alas, it will not be exciting as a BMW. If excitement is a priority, then buy it. Better to lease a BMW then dump it after lease is up.
