why does it die occasionaly?

when it was idling a very short time on a lil  hill slope it died and would not
start until I put it in reverse and came off the hill then it started. then
occasional will die after I start it. and or just idling at a light or sitting? I believe
my year is a 92 honda accord elite

put gas in it...and change the fuel filter next....

How many miles om it and what kind of routine maintenance has been done on it? Could be a clogged fuel filter, fuel pump failing, tank to low on gas or any combination of these.
