Asked by HeatherK240 Jun 20, 2012 at 07:38 PM about the 1992 Honda Civic

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Honda Civic Did this before.. It was working fine and then all of a sudden I drove it alittle bit and Everything but my MPH were working.. The car seemed fine but my RPM's Worked and the car didnt move.. the MPH stayed at 0... I bought another Automatic Tranny and put it in.. worked for awhile then just started happening again.. I figured it was the Torque Converter.. bought a new one and took everything out put it all back in... It is still working for alittle.. then once car heats up the MPH stop and car just quits moving.. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know.. Thank you sooo much!

alot of my buddies were having spedometer problems lately. they changed their engine grounds and the problem went away. they are all manual cars tho, so not sure if this will actually work

i agree with tom on this, my friend had an impala that had the same problem. he took it to some place and replaced the catalytic converter and it was fine

Check trans fluid, auto trans wont move without fluid. Maybe your trans cooler is leaking or worse clogged and the trans is overheating and burning up. When i see catalytic converter problems it usually acts like it has a very low rev limiter.
