Hyundai sonata 4door linkage

I'm looking at this Hyundai , owner says  
it's runs but linkage is broken so it don't
go into gear rite now. Does this car have a
shifter cable or linkage? Also can it be
done like others I have seen that we can
manually shift it from park to drive under
hood somewhere to get it in drive gear?  
And what's the difference between the
linkage and shifter cable? Need to know if
we can get it piped into gear to test drive
so I can buy it and so I can call and order
park need to know which this car has a
linkage or shifter cable?
