Need the actual code, canister it self can not be clogged, the sensors and actuators do fail. Also there are no mechanics at Auto Zone just sales people.

The emissions canister can get clogged with fuel, saturating the filter in the canister, not allowing the system to purge the fumes from the gas tank. The cause of this is over filling the gas tank, topping it off. Most of the time the canisters do not recover and need to be replaced. On some of the canisters made you can replace the filter, but not on all vehicles.
