Ignition problem

Asked by AngieA1 Jul 01, 2017 at 01:09 AM about the 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

there was a lot of play in my ignition
cylinder. Key would turn to accessories but
wouldn't start the car or turn all the way
off. We replaced the ignition cylinder
assembly but it's still doing the same thing.
Any ideas as to what to do next?

No, neither the old ignition cylinder or the new one have bent or worn keys.

I'm thinking it was just the keyed cylinder. I know it's called ignition assembly. The key will turn, it doesn't catch though. Just one smooth turn.
