It's usually the tensioner that's at fault. Changing it is not a huge job although I'm not sure about the hours. Timing chains rarely if ever fail on these cars, but the tensioners do and then the timing chain can skip and then you need a new engine. Have it looked at by a technician if you're not sure. It will be money well spent.

Put new timing Chain in a 05 Chevy cobalt 2.2 ecotech timed it to spec and everything ! Put it back together and it acts like it had no compression what could be the issue
