Car will not start

Asked by GuruT5X6S Jun 14, 2018 at 06:54 AM about the 2005 Hyundai Tucson

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, my Hyundai Tucson 2005 will not start upon initial turn of the key...after about 5 turns, it starts and runs smoothly.  This problem occurs first thing in the morning routinely and seems to be when the car is cold.  I have been driving for four weeks now with this problem.  The diagnostic checks undertaken by the dealers registered no fault codes.  The soleroid switch and brushes were changed, the cam shaft and crank shaft sensors were changed, the throttle body was cleaned...problem still exists and now will not start at all.  I had this car from new. What could be the problem?

First try cleaning throttle with throttle body cleaner then if vehicle starts starts add some gas cleaner to gas tank and also if you use the low grade gas all the time start using the middle grade occasionally will help keep throttle clean.

We had this happen with our 2012 Hyundai Tucson Limited AWD @ 35k miles. The battery was load tested and found to be fine. The alternator was also in perfect working order. The Hyundai OEM starter motor (junk), lead and ground wire where the issue. The starter was replaced ( Autozone Duralast), the lead and ground where cleaned and now it starts up as soon as the key is turned.
