The starter won't even crank the engine.

I bought a new batt but that is not it. I looked at the fuses and they look ok. I
removed the skid plate and exposed the starter and gave it a few raps and
still nothing. What can it be? Also how so you jump the starter from the
silinode? You used to be able to at least make the start crank by crossing the
2 probes on the silinode.

Locate the starter, follow the thick cable from the battery to the large stud on the starter solenoid. You should see 2 smaller studs on the solenoid. Be careful not to ground the studs to the engine block! I would suggest you go to an auto parts store FIRST and pick up an inexpensive remote starter switch so you can clip the insulated ends onto the starter and stand with your face and hands clear of the engine while you push the button to try the starter.You should be able to try the starter by jumping out the 2 smaller studs. It the starter engages & rotates the engine,your problem is not the starter. Do that first, you may just have a bad fuse or relay to the starter in one of the several fuse panels.
Make sure car is all the way in park mine just did the same smh half way turned the key changed to neutral then back to park shut off the restart
