Battery Drain

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 1997 ranger (2.3Liter) has an issue causing the battery to drain. using a load light indicator, i found my Generic Electronic control and instrument cluster fuse(#25) is causing an influx of the load. also, connecting the light from the negative post on the battery to the ground cable causes a relay to charge in the center of the dash. from here, any suggestions on finding what might be the short to fix the drainage problem?

i not questioning you, i just asking how do i test for it, id like to test before replacing
onley way to test is to remove it unplug and see what happends.when removed inspect wires on plugin for burnt spots on plug and check wires to plug for skint spots.
broke it all down everything looks fine. what next?
you have a hot wire shorted someware, hard to find them.try haveing the alt and starter checked, they will go bad and cause a battery drain.
I had a similar problem with my '98 Ranger....It turned out to be the radio fuse.
