replacing radiator on 98 ranger opened petcock to drain but it just drips out

Radiator cap off? This happens often, the petcock takes a million turns to open fully, for whatever reason it ha very fine threads and all small debris settles right there plugging it. Every Ford I have ever had, and that is several, including a Lincoln same thing. Just take bottom hose off

If it won't drain then take the lower radiator hose off as the drain may be clogged. Do remove the radiator cap as it won't drain well with it on.
