2003 Hyundai Accent. Slow starting recently and wouldn't today. Do you have any thoughts? Thanks!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Daughter away at college had it towed to Pep Boys today. They said their "master
mechanic" had to diagnose it tomorrow. I thought a new battery since my daughter said
that light came on today. But why do you need a "master mechanic" to diagnose that?
My second thought is a starter. Do you have any ideas? Thank you for your help!!

before doing anything and wasting money do the diagnostic the we take it from there, but yes, a bad battery can give you a uphill struggle.

When you say the light came on do you mean the battery light ? If so most likely the alternator has stopped charging.

Thank you schalk and firebird338. Yes, it was the battery light. Sincerely appreciate the feedback!

Well, they said a fuel pump to the tune of $475. This was just done in December 2014. Oh well, hope this place got it right!

Ok this place says fuel pump what are the saying about the battery light being on ?

I, too, am shaking my head! Her father has stepped in and is paying for it. He is responsible for choosing where it was "repaired" in December. Oh well, can't fix stupid. Thanks, again!

She is in good hands. I called. The mechanic was never even told that the battery light came on and could not find the paperwork that it came in with.
