Vibration Noise when Accelerating

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Question. My 2010 Accord has approx 90k and just recently started making a 'dirtbike'
sound when accelerating. I know it's a 'typical' noise most older hondas make but mine
isnt that old. It only happens at around 2500 rpm. Any ideas you could throw my way
would be helpful.

Have your muffler checked sounds like the baffles in the muffler has gone bad.
I would say it definitely is your exhaust system, but it could also be the air directing baffles located anyplace on the system from the exhaust manifold all the way along the exhaust pipes and cat converter, so check them all carefully. They tend to rust out fast because of the high heat they are exposed to and rust out at the mounting points. Also if it is a lower side deflector it could have gotten dented at some point and be vibrating against the system.
My 2010 Accord coupe 2.3 4cyl with 70k miles has the exact same problem. Please post if you found a solution to the vibration.
My 09 Honda Accord had the same problem and I needed oil
My ‘08 accord is having the same issue. Sounds the exact same as it does when it’s run out of oil but all my fluids are fine. I’m at around 201k miles on this thing. To fix it I’m trying a fuel additive, “cataclean”, it was like $25. It’s supposed to clean the whole exhaust system so if that doesn’t fix it I’m gonna have to take it in to be looked at. The sound is coming from the body of the car not the rear so it’s definitely something before the muffler
Magic mast, did your solution work?
Update: it ended up being a hole in my exhaust system right before the catalytic converter. Lots of noise but no real issue.
How much did it cost to get that fixed?
