grating noise when backing up

Asked by kdwc45 Oct 05, 2010 at 11:22 PM about the 1993 Honda Accord SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I suddenly started hearing a grating noise when backing up--coming from the left rear
tire area. Is this the brake, the bearings in the wheel , or something else?

really hard to say. A tech would have to test drive it to really get a full understanding of the situation.(example) I had a customer complaint of a tire with a broken belt yesterday. It was actually a piece of tar stuck to the tire. lol
