Noise from Rear while Backing Up from Parking

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My car is a 2004 Honda Accord LX at 110K miles. Recently, I am having a noise issue while backing up the car. When I back up the car from 'parked' condition I hear a noise from the rear. I do not hear this noise when I back up the car after it was on 'Drive' gear. I only hear the noise when I back up after the car was on 'Park' gear. What it might be the reason behind this?

Have you checked your rear brakes lately?? Could it be a stuck caliper??
Not really. I am planning to do that next week. In the mean time, would it cause problem if I drive (city and interstate) before checking the rear brakes?

Also possibly a rear hub bearing beginning to fail, be sure they / you check them when inspecting the brakes as mentioned by Markw1952
I hope it is not a transmission issue.

Unlikely if from the rear wheels. How long since the brakes have been inspected or serviced?
The brakes were inspected two months ago. No major issues were found except rust in brake drums, but the inspection guy told that these are good to go for few thousand miles more.
1998 Honda Civic 230,000. I am hearing a noise from the front right side when I back up.
When I back up or turn my wheels I hear a loud thump noise in the front feels like its coming from my front wheels
