over heating 2010 dodge avenger

Asked by Amanda Apr 02, 2017 at 03:35 PM about the 2010 Dodge Avenger

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car appears to over heat, meaning the light
comes on and my car shows as running hot . If I
turn my heat up all the way the light turns off and
the Guage needle goes back down within seconds.
It's a pain driving around with my heat on blast!
What does that mean? What could it be?

It may have something to do with your fan(s) not coming on. One fan should always come on with the AC but the other is temp controlled. Do u mean that when u turn the fan speed all the way up it comes on? Turn the AC on at its lowest speed ,,, see if that has any effect ... You may have only one fan coming on ,,, open the hood when it's hot to see if any fans are on.
