1997 dodge Avenger wont turn over after oil change

Asked by Madrox1337 Nov 20, 2010 at 09:22 PM about the 1997 Dodge Avenger ES FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 1997 dodge avenger from a small local dealer for a decent buy. I started it about 7 times at the dealer to make sure it was smooth and it was. I decided to take it in and have fluids topped off, It started once after the oil was changed perfectly. the mechanic turned it off and I got in to leave and it didnt even want to turn over. It has an anti theft system which i think is after market that says identity with a thumb print logo on the FOB. Im thinking somehow it locked out and is preventing me from starting it. any ideas on if im correct? its like it hits the relay but doesnt go past that to engage the starter.

just unhook it,if it is aftermarket it will have a wire going into fuse box.
