Have the vehicle scanned and let me know the DTC codes. Autozone, Advance Auto and Pep Boys offer a free check engine light scan.

With out the codes that turned the light on it is near impossible to help you & everything we say would be just guesses. When you get the codes read, write them down in the exact order they are in and what it says the problems are (could be more than 1 code showing) as for asking what the code reader says the problem is, there are so many scanners out there and different types say different problems, although the DTC's are pretty much generic and all the same, for example I have 3 different code readers, 2 of them are different models but the same company & they give different wording for the same codes.
