Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can anyone tell me the name of this pipe in my
volvo s40 engine. The pipe has split and makes a
blown/hissing noise when i accelerate..so i can
order a new one many thanks everyone (not a
great pic but its the small piece of pipe in the
middle ) it seems to go under the radiator maybe

The one near the center of the photo that has rubber and metal would be an AC hose.

The middle of the three hoses, or the middle of the picture? The one with the crimp is either for A/C or power steering. As for the other two, you'll have to backtrack those to find where they connect.

I'm assuming this problem has been resolved. The answer is because my Volvo doesn't have a coolant reservoir low coolant light. A minor coolant hose leak could easily be missed or ignored and result in a $3000+ blown headgasket. A minor rubber coolant hose or plastic radiator leak can overheat and totally destroy your engine in a New York minute...your Volvo is literally 1 gallon of antifreeze from a blown head.
