Car starts goes forward and back but get hot cause the belt is not spinning 2006 chevy Cruze

My car starts but the  crankshaft or water pump the belt is
not spinning at all is runs but gets hot the battery dies

The serpentine belt tensioner might be broken or stuck. Check the belt tension by pressing on it (with the engine off!). It should be taut.
