Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have an '11 eos, check engine light came on, mechanic replaced all 4 coils and plugs. drove 200 miles, check engine light keeps coming on. they say the fault code displayed is a misfire on cylinder 3. if they replaced the coils and plugs, what else could cause the light to come on and what should I do to have it fixed. close to 100k miles

It could be a bad fuel injector, a vacuum leak, or a weak cylinder. Spray around the #3 intake runner with either to check for a vacuum leak, Ohm out the injector on the #3 cylinder, perform a compression test. My money is on a bad injector. I hope this helps

thank you. I spoke to the shop and they said while the system was connected for the diagnosis, the systems mentioned above were not indicated to be a problem (according to the computer). I told him about the fuel injectors and checking for a vacuum leak, he suggested I bring it in again and they will target those areas for evaluation. let's hope for the best. thank you again.
