Hello, I have a 1996 bmw and one of the back lights wont turn on..i tried replacing the bulb but i still have the same problem..i have been thinking about buying the whole back light but im not sure.

try refreshing the chassis ground...follow the black battery cable to where it attaches to the chassis/frame...undo the bolt and with a coarse wirebrush clean that lug 'till shiny...and the spot on the chassis where it connects to assure good ground to the lights~....and be sure that your battery is newer than five years old~

So it's not necessary for me to buy the backlight? Also the metal plate of the light has fallen off
