Problem with my car

Asked by BMWCar Apr 27, 2011 at 07:31 AM about the 2005 BMW 5 Series

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a BMW 5 Series D Sport 2.5 litre manufacture year 2005
The problem with my vehicle is that when I drive the car for about half an hour a sign appears of a red circle with dots around it and the message accompanying it says that there is a transmission fault and that I must drive moderately and after this the vehicle slows down.
Then another sign, this time of the battery appears and another message accompanies it saying that the battery is not securely connected.
Finally after this a third message appears saying “run flat indicator tyre failure” and then the sign ABS appears.
I have taken my vehicle to the mechanic and they have not managed to diagnose the problem.
Can anyone help me with this problem?
Thank You

have the battery tested, if it is reading notably less than whats on the batt lable have it replaced, the new battery registered and the faults cleared. 5 yrs is about all i'd expect to get from a battery in an E60

Thanks alot I've been having this problem for a while now I'll definately get that checked
