Crank issue after fuel filter replacement
Asked by Jorge Dec 28, 2014 at 08:30 AM about the 2011 Hyundai Tucson
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
After replacing the fuel filter (the one located in the gas tank - fuel pump) the engine takes
10x more time to start. I mean, it cranks for a whole lot more time than it was needed
before i replaced the filter.
Quite worried about this as i am not that "versed" in mechanics.
Anyone with same issue? ... or a solution?

Is the directional screw aligned? Easy to over look u may have to mark it before u put it back on.
Tom, fuel pressure is OK. I'll check for the arrow on the filter to see if it is properly fitted (I did not notice an arrow when I installed it, however I used the old filter form and markings as an installation reference). Will check on it on the upcoming weekend and revert. The :-)
heich25, please let me know where in the filter or pump assembly should I look for that specific screw. Thanks a lot!
Im not well versed on this vehicle but the screw that secures the fuel line to the filter usually has a hole through it. The flow of fuel goes through the screw and to ur injectors. Do u recall a screw that connected to the filter and the fuel filter?
