My 2011 Chevy equinox won't crank. I use a remote
key fob with a laser cut key. The buttons will lock
and unlock the door but the key won't crank the
vehicle. An icon pops up on my dash of a car and
padlock. Please help!!!

With those newer style vihicals you have to get the key from the factory because the come with computer chips in them an they won't run without it.... Some will start an run for a few then die... Try to get a new key from the manufacturer
My motherboard, and battery was transferred to the key fob.

That is correct. So take the original factory key, if it's still around, and hold it close to the new laser cut key while cranking. That way the original chip will be recognized by the car's computer, allowing it to start and run.
