Are the foglights supposed to come on when the headlights are turned on?

mostly in North American model cars fog light are connected to headlight, but in European models they are not connected.

lol amir should not talk about something he knows nothing about...and to answer the question at hand, i agree with tom...most cars fog lights need to be turned on separately

well I work at a performance shop, all the European cars that i get fog lights come on sepretly but the american and japan es one nop ALL HONDA TOYOTA Subaru and other low beam should be on then fog lights will be on on High beam it will be off, but in Other car like CITROEN, PEUGEOT even HONDA or HYUNDAI that came from EU the fog light will be on just by turning the side markers on,

IT ALL DEPENDS TO WHAT KIND AND MODEL OF CAR DO YOU HAVE.

In the State of Louisiana where I live... you will get a ticket if the fog lights are on and there is no fog... check your local laws.
