If the starter motor won't crank, have to check voltage and ground at the starter motor. Any testing, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and the parking brake is set. One voltage circuit at the starter comes from the battery, hot all the time. The other circuit usually goes hot with key in the crank position. The starter usually grounds through the engine block. You have a starter relay in integrated power module, under the hood. Sometimes the relay has a wiring diagram on it, terminal 30 should be hot all the time, terminal 87 carries voltage to the starter, if you use a jumper wire between those two terminals, the starter should crank, no need to use key, just make sure vehicle can't move. I can't rule out starter motor itself, having a problem?

The previous post is two years old. Did you make a new post? Is this the same year--make--model? Generally if it cranks good but won't start, you check fuel--spark and injector pulse. Are you missing everything? Or is it just spark?

It clicks and all electrical comes on but wont start. Have to try several times before it actually starts. After its warmed up there are no issues. Only when engine is cold

My issue was a corroded ground wire that went from the battery to the Transmission housing. This was on a 2008 caravan. Where it connects to the transmission it was loaded with corrosion. Cleaned it up, added some dielectric grease and its been solid for 6 months.

I forgot to update my result of my problem. It ended up being the AC compressor. The clutch seized up and prevented my serpentine belt from moving, which in turn fried my starter.

Well it started out as the clutch, which is why it would periodically start. Then the whole thing seized up, bought a used one from the junkyard. Moved onto other problems lol. A few weeks later the waterpump started leaking, got to take everything apart to replace that. Lots of fun, and my harmonic balancer seperated taking it off, so go a new one of those. Timing belt alignment was fun as well. Brake light switch crapped out next. All is well for now, knock on wood.

Have 09 Grand Caravan. It would click once and not start. In off position turn on(do not start) put in gear to drive then put back in park. Turn off then try to start. Mine starts everytime. This should be a recall

With key in on position, gear shift won’t move to drive or reverse. Engine has to be on for gear to engage. Thus I can’t try putting it in another gear then back in park to start. Help!!!!

My issue was a completely corroded wire between the cellenoid and starter. Cut an inch and a half wire and presto. Soldered a new wire on and no expense for a new starter.
