2007 Ford Taurus Engine Sounds Funny

I just recently got my 2007 ford Taurus. I went into
a ditch about a month ago and ever since then my
car sounds funny. It says to check the charging
system and both the check engine and check
battery lights are on. I don't know much about cars
but I know something is wrong with it, obviously. It
struggles to even start, making a loud whistling
noise and starts shaking quite badly. I was
wondering what the problem could possibly be
and approximately how much I should save to fix
it. Has anyone had a similar problem and what
happened with your car? Thank you!!

Funny is not a clue that helps but the CEL means there is a problem and if you get the codes read we can find out what the problem is. Take your car to a mechanic or a good auto parts store and have the codes read. Post them here and we will try to help.
