Why won't my engine switch off?

Help now!  Can't get my car to switch off.  Can't get the keys out.  Car will not turn off!  
Help me!

be sure the vehicle is completely in park. The key tumbler assembly may be damaged for some reason...perhaps someone attempted to steal the vehicle.

Sometimes too u have the front wheels straight,including steering wheel. It's happened to me,and it's pretty flustrating at the time, and then embarrassment sets in. Good Luck

CAN YOU SPELL VOLKSWAGEN? I HAVE A 2012 JETTA HERE. DEALER SAYS IT'S $800 TO REPLACE THE FAULTY SWITCH. A LOT OF THESE FAIL AND NO WARRANTY FROM VW. DON'T BUY VW'S MADE IN MEXICO. THEY ARE CHEAPER BECAUSE THEY ARE GARBAGE. RAN INTO OTHER PATHETIC ISSUES WITH THEM.
